How do you upgrade the ADMN?
« on: March 07, 2006, 04:31:10 PM »
My ADMN is a couple of versions behind the lastest release and is not supporting the client releases properly. I am unsure what version of the ADMN to download (i.e. with msde or not) and what to do with it to upgrade. The manual does not help in this area at all.

My system has been setup for many months and is running with the MSDE, and when I upgrade I obviously wish to preserve all the groups and settings I currently have.

How do I actually go about installing the update. Do I have to uninstall first - run it over the top of the current installation etc etc. It a bit too critical to just experiment.

HELP!

Hello have you looked at this? ADNM admin manual pge 63 sec 8.4? as a precaution I would back the database up though before I started. Can Anybody Else Add to this?

Yes, the ADNM Administrator's Guide does have a section about this.

The update procedure should not (of course) cause any data loss in the DB (although backing it up is always a good idea).

Thanks
