I have Avast Premier (5 systems, 3 years, expires May 2018):

I messed up for two reasons:

1) I tried the privacy data file fragment shredder feature and now:
1A) There is little (about 2GB) of space left on my boot drive.
1B) AvastUI won't start.

2) I called Avast and they want more to fix this problem than the product cost me to buy (5 systems and 3 years).

Dudes, I found a bug and you want me to pay for it?  If I knew the Premier came without bug support, I'd chosen a different product and manufacturer.

I'm hoping someone with Avast or such will say: Wait, we don't charge for bug support!  You got a bad rep and here is how we can help you.  On the other hand, if it is policy to have customer pay for fixing Avast bugs, well, I am moving.  I'm not buying the product and paying to fix your programming errors.  NOT FAIR! You could be putting bugs in to get us to pay you more money!

2] As has been explained many times... You did not call avast but a third party that only handles certain things for avast.

1B] The GUI problem is solved in the latests version

1A] Delete the temp files avast created and reboot.

Simply delete them as you would do with any other file.
You might need to do it from Safe Mode if avast is protecting the files.

After you've removed the temp. files, enable the protection again.
