Avast Premier Firewall blocking my VPN connection

Hi All
I have avast premier and the firewall is blocking my VPN connection. It was working yesterday and today it has stopped working. I believe there may have been an automatic update this morning which caused the problem. I know it is the Avast firewall because everything works normally when I turn it off. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know any fixes for this? I have checked all the usual settings and all the required applications are allowed through the firewall but i still cannot connect.

I had the same problem this morning.

I went into the Settings\Components\Firewall\Customize\System Rules

Disabled Allow VPN connections via PPTP and then re enabled it and it now works.

My vpn was blocking my firewall and I found that it was a setting in my vpn invisibility on LAN and I turned it off and some times it is the setting Internet Kill Switch. Good luck!
