Is this like the situation I posted in the https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=201522.msg1390112#msg1390112 beta sub-forum ?

If so are you using the avast beta version 17.4.2294 (I also got it in the previous beta 17.4.2293) ?
If not what avast versions and Operating System are you using ?

Windows 10 Home 1909 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 20.2.2401 (build 20.2.5130.561) UI-1.0.502/ WinPatrol+/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro

Well some good news, that bug appears to have been squashed, certainly for myself and another user in the topic link that I gave.

It has I believe been resolved by a micro update, reboot your system and see if it is applied.
