I use my personal laptop for programming of equipment using Rockwell's software RSLogix500. To operate the software without limitation, it requires an activation. The Rockwell software has an activation tool and server, that runs locally on the computer, to access the license that allows to software to operate. Today, I found out that there is something in the settings of the Avast Internet Security that prevent the RSLogix500 from operating as it should. I discovered this by disabling the Avast firewall, launching RSLogix500, and it running like expected. I was told by Rockwell's tech support that I the activation must have a TCP Port range of 27000-270009 not blocked for it to work. Hunting around the Avast software, and Google searches have not led to an answer.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Make sure you have set the correct rules in the firewall.
