Seems to be 2 sources of access to AVAST
« on: July 03, 2017, 03:05:43 AM »

A little earlier Avast came up wanting to check a web site I was about to download a file from . I let  it  run and then it wanted me to buy a subscription .  I already have a sub  to 15 Feb 2018  ????  Why is this happening ?

avast doesn't show anything if you visit a website, it simply just scans it in the background.
All files you download are also checked in the background without any notification from avast.

For what where you suggested to take a subscription ?

I should have typed 'license' instead of subscription.  I am licensed user ........ paid til Feb 2018. As I said yesterday I went to download a file and Avast come up on the screen to check it and referred to buying a licence ....... weird
Why is this happening ?   The verification letters to be typed in to prove you aren't a bot are quite difficult to decipher . On this page has HBNG maybe V and the last letter is not readable.

A screenshot of the message would help.
If it is a pop-up, you can disable that in the settings.

The captcha is there only the first three posts.
