Icon In Taskbar

A few days ago I noticed the Avast Secureline VPN icon in my Taskbar.
The program is NOT installed and I don't intend to install the program,
so how do I remove this icon from my Taskbar?

This link explains how to "uninstall" the component and "not how to remove"
the icon, so please< I would like to know how to remove this icon?
