webshield blocking ethernet print jobs??

tried to print something to my canon printer today from a program, and over an Ethernet connection and it failed with an error message that the printer was unreachable
later I disabled the webshield because it continues to make firefox freeze on facebook even with https scanning and stream scanning off and lo and behold my document pops out of the printer...

win7 fully patched
avast free 17.5.2303 build 17.4.3482.0

Did you try a reboot?  Sometimes an issue such as this one resolvable by reboot.  Worth a try.

I've since rebooted, I'll have to try the print job again to be sure
