It's an example of how Reputation ratings can be totally misleading sometimes. Any, not VT's in particular. VT didn't do anything wrong and I haven't any complaints against them.
On the other hand Reputation ratings can help too, so it's rather a "Handle with care" general consideration.

On an unrelated note, I had to set a "Not spam" rule in my mailbox because Gmail seems to think all Avast forum notifications are spam.
I guess that happens because some users subscribed to forum threads then they forgot about it or weren't interested any longer. Correct me if I am mistaken, I suspect a number of n00bs reported Avast WEBforum notifications as spam, or something like that.
Again, I am not complaining about a specific reputation service, neither am I saying reputation is always wrong. But there are cases where it is blatantly wrong.
I am not against reputation, it just needs to be taken with a pinch of salt

That Avast forum spam problem has been reported to Avast and will hopefully get resolved.
It's turning out to be a real pain in the backside.
