Nope, it's a complaint/rant, which should be directed to VT.

Neither.
It's an example of how Reputation ratings can be totally misleading sometimes. Any, not VT's in particular. VT didn't do anything wrong and I haven't any complaints against them.
On the other hand Reputation ratings can help too, so it's rather a "Handle with care" general consideration. :)

Well, most votes are anonymous, so you need to consider the "noob-factor". ;)

Hi 1234ava,

Did not the big WOT trust scandal not teach people enough about this subject?

And what to expect of n00bs but to admit that IT in all and utterly is way above their heads,
so do not be amazed the global IT infrastructure has become totally "borked" as it is to-day.

We all are in the same situation but there seems no easy way out of it
(education and general end-user-awareness as there seems too much interests,
that rather not change the present dire situation as it suits their aims perfectly
(Big Data Commerce and Surveillance all profit from people's dumbed down status with no questions asked).

Beautiful thing, you still do not belong to that mass majority.  ;) ;D :-X

On an unrelated note, I had to set a "Not spam" rule in my mailbox because Gmail seems to think all Avast forum notifications are spam.
I guess that happens because some users subscribed to forum threads then they forgot about it or weren't interested any longer. Correct me if I am mistaken, I suspect a number of n00bs reported Avast WEBforum notifications as spam, or something like that.
Again, I am not complaining about a specific reputation service, neither am I saying reputation is always wrong. But there are cases where it is blatantly wrong.
I am not against reputation, it just needs to be taken with a pinch of salt :)

Agreed. And I may add usually one should take it with a ton of salt... ;)

That Avast forum spam problem has been reported to Avast and will hopefully get resolved.
It's turning out to be a real pain in the backside.  :(
