Post Update BSOD with Avast 17.6.2310
« on: September 08, 2017, 08:24:43 AM »
I updated Avast Internet security to the new version (17.6.2310) yesterday and post the immediate reboot following the install got a BSOD. I have Win 10 Pro with Anniversary Update.

BSOD issue still persists and happens just after I boot up and login to Windows 10. Post rebooting in safe mode, Firefox refused to open, crashing every time I attempted to open it.  :(

I uninstalled Avast and then tried re-installing it (online installer for Avast Internet Security), but right near the end of the installation, got the BSOD (Bad Pool Caller). Restarting the machine showed that the Installation was incomplete and hence removed it use avastclear in safe mode.

As I mentioned previously, my PC runs into a BSOD mere minutes after logging into Windows 10 (post loading the startup items). Will this tool run in Safe mode?

Currently I have uninstalled Avast and this tool is not quite helpful with Avast not present in the computer. Obviously since I have Avira at the moment, the compatibility check will fail,

Is there any way to extract the installation logs though I didn't get the Installation failed screen?
