Medical ID app filtered by Avast

Hello,

I am the author of the Medical ID app for Android:

Some users have reported that Avast is preventing Medical ID to display notifications on the lock screen. For understanding, the purpose of the app is to provide a shortcut for displaying vital information in case of emergencies, which is why users use the app. Thus, Avast is completely defeating the purpose of the app.

It seems there is no way to whitelist apps manually with Avast.

My app is not a spyware. How should I do in order to get it whitelisted by default?

It would not be much of a lock if app's where allowed to use the screen if it is locked.
You lock something so nothing can get true.

Eddy, Android allows to display and open activities even if the lock screen is locked, so what you say is your definition and not the general Android one.

Also, please note the app adds a shortcut to access medical information. This is done based on user wish. I have more than 40k active users who use it and find it useful. I find crazy that Avast, which is installed by default on some devices blacklists such apps and not even let the possibility to their users to whitelist the apps they want even if it is against Avast recommendations...

Hi, the Avast Mobile Security (AMS) doesn't kill other apps because it considers them to be viruses, but to boost RAM. It happens when your users use Avast Battery Saver (ABS) or the "Boost RAM" feature in AMS (though we have not been able to reproduce the situation with your app so far).

It is not possible to whitelist an app to the extent it becomes "immortal" - that would a kind of defeat the purpose of our app.

Whitelisting in ABS:
- open Avast Battery Saver app in your mobile device
- roll right to "TOOLS" screen
- tap on Allowed apps
- right in this menu you may add/remove apps that should be ignored by the "Stop apps" feature

Another option is that your app doesn't actually get killed by AMS, but the device system itself. Samsung, Lenovo, Huawei, Xiaomi and many others have their own "maintenance", which also kills apps running in the background.
