Windows-No Disk
« on: April 29, 2006, 01:57:01 AM »
I have just installed Avast after having enough with Norton.  When I boot my system, A pop up window states "Windows-No Disk."  After maybe 6 or 7 hits of cancel or close it will finally go away and all is OK.  Why would that occur and how do I correct the issue?  Please help a this new recruit!

I've never saw this message... are you sure it came from avast?
Are you sure you properly uninstall Norton?

It is difficult to remove all of traces of Norton.  Symantec recently updated their page of uninstall instructions along with their uninstall tool.  Here's a link to that page:

Using the Norton uninstall tool:

Hi spaniel,

If you google "Windows No-Disk" you'll find a lot of different theories about the cause of this.

A common problem seems to be with Quick Time, but there are other potential causes as well.  I don't think its related to avast! necessarily.
