P2P Shield Protection?
« on: December 24, 2003, 04:36:00 AM »
I'm using Swapper.net. Swapper is a Real-Time Search and Information Retrieval system that operates on the Gnutella protocol.

Gnutella is an open protocol that Swapper.NET and other search software like Bearshare, Limewire, and Morpheus use to communicate.

Is the P2P Shield protecting my system? I don't see any activity on the scan count.

Please advise

Soak,

The p2p shield in Avast protects the following:
Kazaa
Kazaa Lite
Direct Connect and DC ++
BearShare
iMesh
WinMx
Limewire
BitTorrent

Even though Swapper uses the same open protocol as does BearShare and Limewire, Avast is not set up to work with that specific application.
