Avast - non-custom means bloated
« on: September 30, 2017, 03:39:26 PM »
Avast seems to have changed from a very effective small anti-virus tool to software that wants to be the end-all and be-all resulting in such a bloated software product that the standard install now consumes upwards of 20 percent of CPU on an average (not a gaming) system. It is annoying to have to go to the settings after every new version is installed and start hunting for what has been added now that is hogging the processor and disable or uninstall it.

Yes , you can, but after each update the install will add something and you have to start all over again working on a minimal install.
