Avast right click scan problem
« on: October 04, 2017, 06:35:35 PM »
Hi, I've recently updated Avast, but when I try to scan by right clicking a file or folder, I no longer get a pop up showing results. I've tried
doing a repair and then rebooting my computer, but it hasn't helped. Can someone please help.

What version do you have as 17.7.2314 has just been released - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=209428.0.

That said I don't know if that resolves this as the change log is a bit brief.

I updated to Avast 17.7.2314. Afraid the link has no relevant info, about about right scan issues. Thanks for the reply.

After the new update, when I right click scan, no menu appears stating  "Scan from Windows Explorer has finished" that's the issue.

Are you blocking notifications ??? As you can see from my screenshots, I have no problems.

I'm unsure what "blocking notifications" means, please be more specific.

I am also having this problem, i am guessing you are using silent mode? i turned off silent mode and now i get a notification, just not the same one i use to get.  with silent mode enabled i had to go into problems and notifications after performing a a right click scan and then press details to actually perform a scan and see the results.

hope this helps

Also my estimated guess. Silent mode is designed to stop all popups when you're playing games.
When it's used to stop popups from Avast's sales department, some unexpected result can happen.
Not being notified to an action that's needed is one of those.
