JS.MINER-Q popup
« on: February 11, 2018, 07:23:43 PM »
on machine running Win7 using FireFox we have popup saying AVAST has blocked js.minor-q
This happens when we are on the internet AND even if we not near the machine but it is turned on.
We read email in browser from yahoo.
I attached a screen shot if you need it.
What is this and how do we stop it?

Your popup/screenshot is from AVG not avast  .... AVG logo visible at top left

A URL is blocked because it contain js:miner ... URL is listed at top of your screenshot, and full URL lower down
Process: is what is trying to connect to that url

I will try again to get a screen shot on that computer and post it. Sorry about doing that, I found it on the web and saw it was the same as what is happening.

I have attached the new JPG from the computer. Please see again

I'm very confused by your remarks that the Avast logo on the top of screenshot posted by aroned is actually AVG.  Are you saying that AVG is using an Avast log?  I'm experiencing the exact same problem on my Windows 7 machine with respect to JS:Miner-Q and getting the exact same screenshot.  I'm also experiencing diminished processing speed and my machine is not going into a sleep or hibernate mode until I log off.  I'm sure that something lurking in the background is trying to connect with the n43adshostnet.com site but I can't find it.  Any help with would be hugely appreciated.

I did apologize for that and reposted one from our computer.
I had posted one from the web by mistake ... I saved over the one I had originally done from the popup.
