Hi!

After having installed that final on my main XP machine, I noticed a long time of the download and WTM shows a increasing use of the CPU till 97%.
At the end TB was stopped by reaching the dounload limit caused by AvastSvc.exe. For I couldn't change this, I uninstalled 18.2.2338 and went back to 17.3.2290 as a clean install.
Is anybody here with the same experience?

Hello
can you create a dump file of AvastSvc.exe process when it is using your CPU ?
In Task Manager (ctrl+shift+esc) select AvastSvc.exe process  -> right click -> Create dump file -> Dialog will show you path to the dump file (AvastSvc.DMP).

Please zip you file as snake_avast.svc.exe_cpu_load.zip and upload it into avast for analysis.
Thank you for help.

Hello,

To 1: Does it make sence creating a dump file after I went back to 17.3.2290? For that final don't use the
CPU like the 18.2. final did.
To 2: Never did that, but where to upload?

Hi Snake, if you want to help...

1. Update to the latest version (18.3.2333) and try again.
2. If the problem persists, follow kwiq's instructions.

PS: You can upload your dump(s) here: ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/

Hi Asyn,

To 0: I can't help, but had to help by myself (wandered, that you didn't answer my post in the German
section under 'Avast 18.2.23328 Finale Version - Feedback').
To 1: Right now, I've only little time, for I'm going to leave Germany for a fortnight and back in May.
To 2: That's a lot of work, if the prob persists.
Thanks for the ftp link.

1. IMO, troubleshooting an outdated version won't help.
2. Well, 5 to 10 minutes.
3. You're welcome.

To say it clearly: If after having updated to the latest version and the prob still persists, I have to delete that, making a clean install of the latest 17.3. will last an hour or so and right now I don't have that time.
