cant delete virus "Sober"
« on: July 03, 2006, 09:53:26 AM »
Hi,
using Acer with Win XP Home, Vast with latest (June 29, 06) update, detected a series of Sober files,
Some files I could move to chest and then delete them. However 3 or 4 files could not be scanned, nor remopved from the systems. I have no control over the systems either. As the only user of this desktop, I have lost control of the systems. Have now no access to Task Manager. The messsage is that TM was deactivated by Admin.
What would be your way of cleaning the systems. Besides replacing the HD with new one, installing WinXP anew, and the connect old HD in order to clean it using AVAST?

What was the full path of the files (that couldn't be removed)?
