Avast is blocking all downloads on Opera ... why?

Fed up with this. I cannot download anything whilst using Opera but if I switch to Firefox there's not a problem. Why is Avast blocking downloads in Opera? It's a right pain in the ass.

Always get this message ... "Interrupted: Virus scan failed"

Maybe time to switch to another AV. What's ironic is that Avast will not even allow me to download their own uninstaller in the Opera browser ... haha.

If FF works for you, use it. I doubt anyone will troubleshoot a way outdated version of Opera.
