Need some understanding
« on: July 21, 2006, 10:55:51 AM »
Hello every one I am new and I have a question I need to ask.

Ok I was running my avast 4.7 home edition the other day and when it was done and poped up the window it says:

Quote
Unable to scan:Archive is password protected.

Well what I am asking is what does this mean???

Also I ran the updates and everthing and it is telling me the virus recovery database (VRDB) has not been done yet, What do I do and what does that mean it has not been done yet sence it has been updated?

Well this is exactly what it says. avast! cannot scan password protected files as well as you can't view those files unless you have the password.
Lavasoft Ad-aware is for example using some encrypted files that will give such message. Bottom line, you don't have to worry about these, avast! just notifies you that it scanned archives but were password protected.

No... doesn't matter on VRDB working.
