Avast for EDU not longer Free?

Dear Avast, This is a bit disturbing that our school was not informed about this change until now and the business interruptions we had incurred a few weeks ago with your software updates and bad signatures really leaves a sour taste for all us and to add insult to injury our "trail" ends 11 Dec 2018 WHICH REALLY DOES NOT GIVE US AMPLE TIME TO MAKE A DECISION.
I was told back when we first signed up (Luke and Raymond) that this was going to be free service with no catches to EDU schools and I certainly don't believe We're the only school that feels this way.

Please advise?!

I was told the same thing. Would be interesting to see how this will be answered.

I was notified that our school's Avast expired on the day of. I attempted to contact Avast but no response. Not sure if we should continue with Avast in the future even if we buy.
