No license detected message?

Hey everyone, first time here. I am trying to get rid of the ads on Avast Mobile Security, but I keep getting the No License Detected message. I know I purchased a license, but I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and cannot restore my license. Everything matches my email address, like my Paypal account, Avast account, Google Play, etc and I still can't figure out how to remove those annoying giant ads on my app, without purchasing a new license. What do I do? I've tried to restore my license every way I know how, except for buying a new license and xancelling the old one. I'm on a Galaxy Note8, Android 8.0 by the way. Thanks for any help, it's driving me nuts.
