Mutilple failure log messages on osx like non existant files in Avast at boot

Hi, all new to using this.
I am running High Sierra 10.13.6 and AVAST free 13.11 on an iMac
At boot up there are numerous references to Avast failures like
com.avast.service[314]: sock: sock_connect_unix_socket: connect(/Library/Application Support/Avast/run/scan.sock) failed: No such file or directory
Jan  3 10:23:05 iMac com.avast.service[314]: DaemonConn: open: sock_connect_unix_socket() failed.

I've looked in this directory and there is no such file "scan.sock".
It looks messy and slows down the boot process.
