App lock doesn't work

Hello,
I have Xiaomi Mi A1 with android 9. The app lock is not working properly - I can access blocked apps without PIN or fingerprint, it happens even if I turn my phone off and on again.
To make it work I have to access avast app block settings (just open-close), but it works only till I lock my phone again.
Any suggestions please?

Hi, sorry to hear that. It seems that something keeps killing our app > when it is inactive, the app locking cannot work either.
We can recommend you check this website:

https://dontkillmyapp.com/xiaomi

It helps you whitelist our app on your type of device; that should solve the issue.

Mi A1 has stock android, no MIUI. App lock worked fine with android 8, the problem started after update to android 9. Is there any way to test what is causing the problem?

Great, the "stock Android" is usually less complicated than MIUI. I still recommend to check the https://dontkillmyapp.com/stock_android
