« on: September 02, 2019, 10:41:26 AM »
Hello everyone,

Brand new Avast Battery Saver product is now available in Beta!

In this phase of a product lifecycle it is very important to get as much feedback as possible therefore we would like to ask you to help us with testing.

What is Avast Battery Saver?
  • It is a product for Windows notebooks or devices with a battery.
  • Reduces internal and external power demands to extend battery life.
  • One click turns off Wi-Fi & Bluetooth® for an even longer battery life.
  • Reduces the power consumption of power hungry processors.

How can you help?
  • Download the Beta version: https://honzik.avcdn.net/setup/avast-bs/beta/avast_battery_saver_online_setup.exe.
  • Launch the setup and click on Install now.
  • Done? Launch the product and click on Maximum to enjoy more battery life - wherever you go.
  • Maximum profile shall be also activated automatically when you unplug your notebook from power source.
  • If you find any bugs during testing, please create a new thread in this forum section.
  • Please provide us also with feedback about what you like most and what you would change. You can also fill in the survey displayed in the product.
  • Since we aim to deliver the best product - would you add anything to it that is missing? Do not hesitate to share your feedback!

Thank you & enjoy the beta testing!
AVAST Team.

Not entirely correct, there's also a version for Android, but it won't help/please Speedy either. ;)

Dont count on an iPhone/iPad release, apple heavily restricts low level hardware access to apps.

What is it doing by "Reducing frequency of PC syncs"?

Installed on Latitude 7440 and it initially said I was on a desktop, but after a bit it showed up correctly.

Suggestion: under settings - Turn off WiFi with battery saver. I would suggest that this NOT be on by default. Most users assume that if unplugged and mobile that WiFi would be on.
