After recent update of Avast premium security I was unable to use my Dragon NaturallySpeaking dictation software. After much screwing around I finally figured out that if I disabled the avast Shields for 10 minutes (with my browser Closed) then clicked on Dragon NaturallySpeaking it would load my dictation profile and work properly after turning the shields back on. To close it I have to do the reverse.

Obviously would be nice If Avast Would fix this, But my question is: if my browser is closed is it still possible to get virus and Malware infections? I suppose I could turn off the modem but that would be an additional hassle. Thanks
