Sandboxie bypass Avast firewall
« on: January 30, 2020, 05:41:36 PM »
I have some rules created for prevent internet access for some programs.
When a new program tries to connect internet Avast ask me for a permission and a new rule is created.
I'm using it for years.
Sandboxie is the best Sandbox I know.
It runs fine and just as I need.
I can block the programs to access internet in the Sandboxie configuration, yes, but this is not the question.
The curious thing is that when I run a program inside Sandboxie, Avast don't ask me about permission.
Also, there is not rules created for Sandboxie in Avast firewall, so I don't know how Sandboxie and the application running inside is connecting internet.
Any thoughts?

Hello jap2,

thanks for you post. We have identified the reason why you don't see Ask dialog / application rule. Sandboxie prevent us to access properties of the process running inside it therefore we have to implement fallback for such situations in Avast Firewall. Fix will be introduced in one of the upcoming release.

Best regards,
