Avast sells user data
« on: March 08, 2020, 11:50:32 AM »
Hi,
nice to experience - the german c't magazine describes in number 5/20 how Avast sells large amounts of user data. They make advertises with the text
"examine every search, click and buy. On every site".
And they combine curious objects as shoe advertising and youporn sites...

I think, Avast is no longer appropriate for us users.

Maybe - for me it's new.

I was always sure that any AV company doesn't make gifts to the free users. They need them to get a much broader base of honeypots to find new malware. They need it for paying customers. A real win-win situation. That's ok with me.

But this additional profit with selling users private data is incredible.

I am still here. And I will not leave Avast, it's great software 👍

We all make our own choices. I personally don't need help from someone else
as to my decision.  :)

I think Avast still now is the best AV product.
BTW, I hope Avast shall exclude AD, annually auto-billing, etc.
