Avast Premier and firewall not available 2020

April 1, 2020, the Avast program I previously had was updated to Premium.  It updated with no problem.
When it rebooted, I had a notification that the Firewall was not on.

1. I clicked to turn on the Firewall but received this message "Firewall not available."
2. I checked the forum for solutions.
3. Windows Control Panel / Uninstall programs/ Avast / repair / reboot / Firewall still not available.
4. I did not want to uninstall Avast/turn - off the Internet/boot into safe mode and use the Avast uninstall utility. (Last resort)
5. I clicked ignore.
6. I did a quick scan.
7. The scan showed me that my Firewall was off, and would I like to resolve the issue? No, brainer, I clicked resolve.
8. The Firewall connected.  Maybe I just got lucky.

Addendum:  It works with Malwarebytes, Windows Defender, and Zemana Key logger for now.

I got this solution from Avast, it works for me, i hope it does for you.

Open Avast Premium Security -> Press Menu in the Top Right -> Settings -> General -> Troubleshooting -> scroll down to Reset all settings and click on Reset to Default and reboot your PC

Running a Smart Scan (quick scan) resolved the issue of "Firewall not available) for me.
