looks like Avast is goint to delete itself at boot
« on: May 08, 2020, 07:04:48 PM »
Avast is adding those lines to delete files and folders at next windows boot.

It looks like I am going to loose Avast folders at next boot.
C:\Program Files and C:\WINDOWS\system32 are deleted also.

It is not looking good.

Those lines are added every time if I click "check for updates" at Avast user interface.
Lines are also added every time when Avast is checking updates by schedule.

Looks like Avast has missed some virus or it has got some serious bug at update.

Doea anyone have some idea what is going on?
Is this false alarm?

Maybe it is time to remove Avast (before next boot) and try some else. But I hope there is some other solution.

Avast do actually add this to registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\\PendingFileRenameOperations
\??\C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup\Reboot.txt

These are the files and folders to delete at next boot:
(moveex.exe is program what shows those pending file and folder moves)

C:\moveex.exe
Rename operations pending:
001; C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup\Reboot.txt ;DELETE;
002; C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\setup ;DELETE;
003; C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast ;DELETE;
