Download blocked ?

Yesterday, during download of the mail a virus Win32.Sober-C has been found.  
I have marked to cancel the virus but the download of the mail  is stopped.  
I have tried more times but always the same thing.  
To download other letters I have had to cancel the infected mail from the server (through web access ).  
Does it deal with a problem of the avast?  
I have tried to download a message with enclosure Eicar test and all it regularly works.  
OS Windows ME, Avast 4 Home Eitions, VPS: 0312-10 19.1.2004

Hi, what does it mean "marked to cancel the virus"? Delete or something else???thanks! pavels

Yes, I tried to delete, rename, to put in Virus Recycle Bin ,  but dowload of the mails was jammed.

OK; And what email program you are using? Outlook Express (or something like that) or Outlook? Was there some error message in email program or dowloading e.g. hung, ... thanks, pavels

Outlook Express 6. Any error message. Only after 60 sec timeout Outlook Express.
Tonight I retry with another virus !

Last night I have made some tests with the same virus.  
All regularly worked.  
I am convinced that the problem previously described  
is due to the temporary problem of the server (provider).  
In every case, I have sent you the virus.
