Suspected Virus
« on: September 11, 2006, 02:34:34 AM »
???

Hi Moderators.

I am fairly new to computers. I have also written to this forum on one occasion with respect to the Zlob Virus. I was successfull in removing the same.

I have recently noticed that when moving from one website to the next, the site page sought comes up minimized and I have to manually maximize the same. This seems to me to be really unusual and I suspect there may be a virus in the system.

Despite running Avast Home, Lavasoft Adaware Home, a squared On line Scanner, Trend Micro House Call On line Scanner and Xoftspy I can't seem to detect any form of malware or virus. Further, at the time of writing I have found that the my I.E toolbar changed in that the order links in my favorites were configured has changed.

I shall be gratefull if you and/or members of the forum can advise. Your comments and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Do you use any Registry Cleaner?

Avast Home, Lavasoft Adaware Home, a squared On line Scanner, Trend Micro House Call On line Scanner and Xoftspy
I can only add SpyBot and ewido (www.ewido.net)...
Do you use a firewall?

Hi. Tech,

Thank you foryour return thread. I use C. Cleaner for registry cleaning purposes.

After posting I Downloaded Mc Afee Stinger and ran a scan. Nothing came up. I shall try Ewido and spybot which I am familar with and revert the results to you. Meanwhile IE toolbar changed again after I reset it and locked the toolbars.

Thank you for your kind attention.

I think no problems... some registry cleaners could delete menu and toolbars icon order, etc. It was just a guess.
