Cannot delete files from virus chest

I try to clean virus chest, very old files in there and the order is old to new.
Problem is, i go into the virus chest and select all or delete one file.

Nothing happens !
The files not get removed from the virus chest.

How do you delete is when avast refuse to delete ?
Please not say reinstall avast, Nightmare with change of losing settings.

Repair Avast:
1. Avast GUI -> Settings -> Troubleshooting
2. Click on 'REPAIR APP'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Tried what you did say, but i still can press 'delete all' or try it one by one. the stay in  the list.
So, that sadly does not work. Still good function to know.

- Which Avast..? (Free/Pro/IS/Premium)
- Which version/build of Avast..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?

Version 20.4.2410 (build 20.4.5312.580)
Windows 10 pro 64bit  1909 - 18363.900

No other software installed. Unless windows run something i dont kn ow.
The problem i think is already there for many versions.

I can recall this being an issue for a while and I can confirm A file I have in the Virus chest remains after supposed deletion.

My Avast in x32Win10ProV20H2, also wont delete files in the Virus Chest which I selected; however, they are files that were on a HDD that has since been formatted, so no longer exist on the HDD; but they are supposed to be IN THE CHEST, which is NOT on that HDD.
