Which Avast product? What version? Which browser?

Good morning Joe
Are you using the WhatsApp application oder the WhatsApp-Web version? If you're using the WhatsApp-Web it's possible that avast is using an adblocker which includes WhatsApp-Web.

In this case, you should go to your Browser Addon and define www.web.whatsapp.com as an exception, so that the programm doesnt identify the page as an possible ad.

I hope this helps, good luck!

This is probably related with a reply from Avast.

Hello everyone, just wanted to share that I had the same problem when using Whatsapp Web. Had to turn of the ad blocker and then reload the site, afterwards it worked perfectly.  :)

Same here, you have to go to your Adblocker and mark the page "Whatsapp" as an exception. I really hope this helps!
