Optimal scan settings.

Hi, I ask for support even from the most experienced and who have been using Avast for a long time. How do you suggest me to set the scan options to make the scans more optimal and not too long unnecessarily? That is, what are the settings you suggest to set in the scans?

With the level of protection provided by the real-time shields in latest versions of Avast, I for one do not use on-demand scans that frequently, only on a fresh installation, or if I am concerned about possible suspicous activity. Then I would run a full scan with default settings, even though it does take a long time.

I do a boot time scan about once a year. That's it. Avast takers care of everything else.
(Boot time scan has never found anything either)

I rarely do an on-demand scan (mainly as a result of a related post in the forums), for the most part they are much depreciated because of the effectiveness of the avast resident on-access protection.

However should you choose to do one, then the default settings are likely to be your best options as that gives the best balance between speed and effectiveness.
