Hi everyone, hope you're well.

Making this post today to ask about an issue I am having.

So I've been using avast since I got this new PC back in September of last year. Not had any issues at all. However After updating Avast to 21.1.2449 I have noticed at totally random moments my Avast shields will deactivate and I will see the error: The aswbIDSAgent service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

I have already done a repair and fresh install of avast and the issue still persists.  So any info would be great. I want to assume its the update to avast itself causing the issue as it only started happening AFTER updating it.

I'm on windows 10, 64 bit
OS build: 19041.867

Hello

-Free version of avast.

-I have malwarebytes installed but does not run along side avast and was installed after the first time this issue popped up.

-Before avast I used Microsoft defender. Basically the Pre installed AV with Windows 10. Though thus was for like a week back in September last year.

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

PS: Regarding Avast & Malwarebytes, see: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/200324-exclusions-for-avast-users/

Now you mentioned this, i had this a few times yesterday too.
After the de-installation, restart and installation of avast again, is the problem not gone.
This still happens. The behaviour shield, ransomware shield and password security are off.
The other ones are running fine.
