Avast This site can't be reached after wake from sleep

This problem occurs every morning when waking my Mac from sleep. Every open web page will give "This site can't be reached" if I try to reload or access a new page. I've verified that other browsers are working so it's not the network or DNS. The only way to get Avast working again is to quit (and then Force Quit because it fails to quit every time) and restart it. I get a prompt to restore previously open windows which loads all the previous windows correctly. Anybody else got the same problem and any suggestions to fix? Running Avast 88.2 and Big Sur.

I have a similar problem (the "The site can't be reached" message) but on Windows 11. It only happens on some sites (e.g. Outlook, my HMO) but it occurs regularly and not just when waking from sleep. It takes a reboot to fix. It's a major annoyance and may cause me to ditch the Avast browser.

Could you please share your diagnostic information? It might help us with the investigation.

1. Open the browser and click on the menu icon (3 dots in upright corner)
2. Click on “Help and About Avast Secure Browser” and then “About Avast Secure Browser”
3. Click on “Diagnostic Information” (this will open a pop-up window)
4. Click the “COPY TO CLIPBOARD” button to capture the information and paste it here.
