Changing default scan behaviour of clients & distribute change across network

I have set up my ADNM and distributed my server and client installations across the network. I have had a couple of complaints regarding the scanning of network traffic and the speed of opening and closing network stored files. Is there a way of modifying the default configuration to speed up on-access scanning?

You can set up some exclusions (i.e. specify that something shouldn't be scanned at all) - but there's no way of speeding up the scan itself once the files should be scanned.
