Ok, yes, now I have read the modification of the comment.

So streaming VPS updates complement the definition updates? I still don't understand how the streaming ones work.

They do micro updates every few minutes usually and are very small by comparison a few KB.  Just check the defs sub folder and they have _stream at the end of the file/folder name.  Click that and you can see the micro streaming updates, in my image mine are 2-4KB in size, so fast and small.

When there is a new VPS Update they contain the cumulative streaming updates and they are then removed.

Interesting! Thanks so much, now it is finally clear to me what streaming updates are.  :D ;)
Thank you and good day!

It looks like this has been running fine.

Until today.

I just has my Avast Cleanup Premium renewed. When the laptop rebooted, I was automatically downgraded to Avast Free AntiVirus. WHAT IS THAT ABOUT?

Looking through the forums, it was suggested that I re-activate it. When I copy and paste the activation code from 19-Mar-21, which is when I renewed Premium Security, it tells me "Sorry, this code has expired."

WHAT IS THAT ABOUT? I JUST PAID FOR IT 2.5 MONTHS AGO!! DON'T TELL ME MY ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION HAS EXPIRED!!

New versions with greater protection are always welcome! What I miss, however, is the Network Connection Enable\Disable feature in my Taskbar. Was the omission intended? I used it constantly, all day long, to ensure total privacy. Now I must physically unplug my LAN cable every time.  :-\

Afer this update PC starts to microfreeze for 1/3sec each ~2 minutes. Win 10 20H2/21H1. I`m almost shure it's caused by Avast because the freezes stop as i deleted it.

Repair Avast:
1. Avast GUI -> Settings -> Troubleshooting
2. Click on 'REPAIR APP'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Avast has a slight bug. After exporting settings, restoring them does not restore the list of Ransomware Shield protected folders.

Alternatively, does anyone know where Avast keep the list of Ransomware Shield protected folders?

Also, when adding folders to Ransomware Shield to protect, I suggest you have checkboxes to add multiple folders.

I keep all my data folders in an external hard disk. So I'm disappointed that I can't add the entire drive as protected folder in Ransomware Shield.
