hpaudioswitch.exe: False positive?
« on: June 07, 2021, 11:15:41 PM »
Hello everyone,

today I scanned my computer and Avast detected hpaudioswitch.exe as malware. I thought, this programme was part of the pre-installed audio driver from HP? I've already googled it but I couldn't find any information. What also puzzles me is the fact that Avast didn't find any malware in the previous scans although hpaudioswitch.exe was already there –  at least I think so.

Does anyone have more information about that? Has someone maybe received the same warning and can tell whether it is a false positive or not?

Thank you in advance!

What was the Avast Alert ?
It might depend on the scan/s you have done previously and their default (or modified) settings.

Did you find this in your search https://www.file.net/process/hpaudioswitch.exe.html.
Is this file digitally signed ?

Do you actually have the HP Audio Switch installed ?
