For me this is just what seems another IE cline, dressed up in a pretty skin, otherwise how could it reasonably be a stand alone browser with a download size of just 485KB. It also has activeX integration and that was one of the major reasons I went to firefox.

The Bad

There still are issues to be considered and one of them is allowing the user much more freedom in configuring the ad-filter. But this is a problem with most browsers.

A help file wouldn't hurt a bit. Some of the users may feel the need of reading the explanation of the options as the developer intended them to be used.

Support for English in the forum would expand the market niche and more users will be able to contribute to its development.

The resource use is still pretty high. I opened a single tab and TheWorld Browser asked a bit over 55MB tribute. It is true that IE7 was a little under this value, but Maxthon ate only 46MB with four tabs opened.

The download tool provided by the program does not estimate the downloading time.

TheWorld Browser is base on the Microsoft Internet Explorer engine with additional features. It can work under Windows 98/Me/2000/XP.

This would appear to confirm my first thoughts about being a clone, with the potential for IE vulnerabilities. So I doubt it will see the light of day on my system.

Hi Dan,

What did you read in that fortune cookie? Because now you are proposing a browser from Bejing, China. That must have been a good Chinese dinner, my friend....big fried Chinese prawns in sweet sour sauce, Chinese miehoon, lichee fruit with vanilla ice and clotted cream. So that is why you now come up with a Chinese IE shell browser. Hope it is different from Browzar, but at 1232,1 K it is a wrapper really.

Unfortunately just another IE skin.
At least with IE I can use SiteAdvisor and finjan.  :)
I also see no way to add the GoogleTollbar or any other add-ons.
As David already mentioned, it's pretty.  ;D

I did some browser testing on this forum a couple of years ago. Of course, these recent browsers Dan has mentioned were not part of the testing back then. But, if this one is just a pretty skin for IE7 with a few extras, guess I will pass on it since I already have a nice skin for IE7. Besides, Opera has won me over as my main browser.    :)

Hi Bri -

Honestly, I do not remember where I got this skin from but it was from a link someone posted in one of the forums here.

EDIT

Just after posting the above, I remembered it was from a posting by YLAP. So, I went searching and found the link. Be sure to read all of the thread as there is needed info in it.

I have to agree with the Firefox fans.  Firefox is the best browser I have had the PLEASURE of using, unlike clunky IE7 which was redesigned for the worse.  Moreover, Firefox has a portable version, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe IE has one of those...  ;)

No, there isn't a portable IE version.
