Hello,
does anyone notice a slowdown in the opening phase of Chrome that takes a few seconds to open especially the first time after starting the PC?
If I'm not mistaken it was a problem related to Avast Free but I don't know if it has been solved.
Hi, not using/running Chrome, but no issues with ASB (Chromium based) here.

Installed the new release today, and all is well except for the Notifications tab in Settings. It never loads. It constantly has "Loading" in the middle of it. I've tried repairing the installation and even doing a fresh installation. The issue persists.

Update: Forgot to mention that I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64 (Build 20H2), and I've attached an image of the issue.

Hello OrdosAlpha, can you please copy and pack files from this folder c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\ and send them to petr.blatny@avast.com ? I'm not able to induce such issue.
Thank you very much.
Petr

Sent you the log folder after my latest attempt to uninstall and re-install Avast today. Issue still persists.

Updated to latest version (Win 10 21H1 x64) and all seems well except one minor issue: the context menu icon is invisible/missing ~ see pic. Could be a temp glitch on my end but remains after one soft reboot, thought I'd share in case. THX

Hi, from your screenshot, I noticed that the icon for 7-Zip is also missing.

I'm not sure 7-Zip has an Explorer context menu Icon - there isn't on on my system - and I'm still lounging around on avast free version 21.5.2470 (build 21.5.6354.680).

Hi Dave, see screenshot.

Thanks for that, I don't know if there is an option to turn that on in 7Zip (I've never gone looking).

I just thought that it isn't completely avast 21.6 related.

Yep, I also doubt that.

Hi,
Do you know if and when the "new" display disappears from the UI?
Usually, once the new item is consulted, the "new" display disappears.
Here, the information about "Secure Browser" (although installed for a long time) does not disappear while it has disappeared for "VPN" and "Cleanup", see my screenshot 1.
Hi Chris, I already reported it (via Slack) on Friday, the devs are checking it.
Hi Chris, it's fixed in the latest beta. :)

ok, well then, one more thing I suggest that anti phishing and fraud should be further improved in terms of performance and scope of detection because many fake websites are disguised very well, they look as if they are real websites.

Avast does an excellent job of protecting you against spoofed websites.

Is the web shield assisted by Aov able to prevent us from entering fraudulent and phishing websites who are getting smarter to disguise themselves as real websites, without real site support for free antiviruses ?
