Just a flash back, why don't we post a quote of our first post here in forums.
Specially to 'old' users, this is a good flashback and most of the times the reason we get into this forum family. Don't you think so?  8)

Mine:

I used McAfee for one year or two; Norton AntiVirus for a long time (it brings lot of complications to remove from Windows Registry). Then I go to AVG Grisoft (perhaps the version 7.0 will not be free  >:().
When I tryed Avast, everything seems to be working..., except that I could not use DOS programs under XP. Executables seems to be "bypassed" in command line and the user just receive another prompt: C:\>  ???.
I have to use pkzip and pkunzip (earlier versions) (I know that WinZip 9.0 Beta exists and Command Line for it too, I have and use them). But I have to use the older versions for security reasons... If you are laughing on this, sorry, but it works better on complex systems like mine  :D).
Desintalling Avast, the programs work again.
Anybody knows about this?

This is my first post in avast forums... I'm proud  8)

I think this one was my first message on these forums...

Easiest way is to self-mail an EICAR test file within ZIP archive or to use clean/infected tags.

Hi Dan,

Why did you do that, why?

polonus
Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Well here is my first.

I think it would be a great idea to set an option in a future version whether the user wants Avast ( or not ) to scan memory when starting.

I'm not sure all users know that Avast doesn't scan memory when starting, and that they must put a link in start menu ( ashquick MEMORY STARTUP ).

I to think its a great idea and I have been trying to do this but failed miserably.

I started by creating a shortcut (to ashquick.exe) on my desktop and tried to add the option/switch, everything I tried to add in the command of the shortcut's properties failed.

How do you do this? Can it be done in the Home version?.

TIA David

Any guesses who answered it ?

I gave up, so that's why it says 'Guest'... but, like all others that left at that point I also had my reasons. Anyway, that's behind us...

This is my first post... I actually asked if there is some other location where new users could download skins, besides official avast! web site. Back then, there was 4-5 skins only... and look at that section now!  :o  :o I had no slightest idea that I will be the one who's most responsible for all that mess inside the skins section, LOL  ;D

That's Vlk's fault  ;D He said he liked how my personal website looked like, and that I could be one of people who could build some new skins for avast!. Well, I gave my best... though, not sure if all results are as good as I wanted them to be.

At that thread, Bye is 'Techie'... we miss him, I miss him... He was a moderator of Off Topic forum with Bob and I...
Suzannah has contact with him... but she's not here anymore... At that thread, Walker is a very old friend of mine... he gave up too... Hope he reads avast forum from time to time.

I'm proud I was there too, close to your first beginning... http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=1834.msg12185#msg12185
