Apple Safari - Now on Windows too!

1 Million Copies of Safari for Windows Downloaded....
It’s been just four days since the public could get their hands on Safari for Windows. 
Yesterday Apple announced that during the first 48 hours since it was available, more than 1 million copies of Safari were downloaded. That is pretty impressive considering some of the bad rap that it’s gotten. Perhaps it’s because this was an unexpected move from Apple which generated a lot of buzz, and so everybody wanted to check it out to see what it’s all about?
Apple sounded pretty happy with the number of downloads, but I’m not sure whether that number is a good or bad thing. There have been many problems with it already, and now one million people have already formed their opinion of the browser and may not be willing to go back and try it again after Apple corrects the problems and releases it out of beta.
I’m sure there are also many curious developers who wanted to get their hands on it, which is beneficial to Apple anyways. The more developers that start working with it, the more applications we’ll see made available for the iPhone which Apple is betting on to be the breadwinner.

I've read several reviews about Safari... neither one convince me to change Firefox to it. Less customization, less security, very little (if any) browsing speed improvement (only opening a lot of sites at the same time), crashing troubles, memory usage after some time browsing, etc.

This isn't meant to persuade any one to switch however, if you intend to try Safari, you might as well do it
as safely as possible.

I understand you're not persuading... I'm just giving more reasons to avoid, right now in such development stage, the Safari browser.

Bob, Safari 1.x and 2.x on OS X have always had issues with memory usage, however the 3.0 beta under Mac OS 10.4.x is much better on memory usage (after an hour is only around 40MB compared to Safari 2.0.4 using nearly 200MB )

So since there is such a drastic improvement in the Mac beta Im sure the windows beta will be updated as well to solve the memory issues.

Also note that in terms of rendering speed currently the windows version is very fast compared to its Mac counterpart. I have no clue why

Mac, is the current beta version (3.0.3) safe to try?
Any info about a non-beta version?

3.0.3 does not have any known Security issues right now.
As for the final version it is coming sometime next month around the same time as Leopard (since leopard will contain the Final release of Safari 3.0 for the Mac and the Windows version is Identical to the OS X release)

I've never thought I would ever say something like this... I have to say I am not excited about Leopard going gold... why ? Because... Tiger does such a great job that I don't need anything better than this, LOL. 

Oh, who am I kidding now... of course I am excited, Leopard can't wait to meet you in person  Back on topic - Safari 3 is welcome too.
