I've sent 4 e-mails to virus[at]avast.com, each with a different variant of trojan/worm in a password protected zip file, and Avast still isn't able to detect them - I'm currently using VPS version 000777-2.
#1: Detected as: WORM/Ntech.H (AntiVir), Downloader.Agent (AVG). [E-mail Sent Wed, 19 Sep 2007]
#2: Detected as: WORM/Ntech.I (AntiVir), Downloader.Agent (AVG). [E-mail Sent Fri, 21 Sep 2007]
#3: Detected as: WORM/Ntech.J (AntiVir), Downloader.Banload.FCP (AVG). [E-mail Sent Thu, 27 Sep 2007]
#4: Detected as: WORM/Ntech.L (AntiVir). [E-mail Sent Fri, 28 Sep 2007]
Is it normal for Avast to take forever to be able to detect new threats?
John.
