100% Disk Error
« on: November 17, 2021, 08:44:36 PM »
Hi,

For months I have been having a 100% Disk usage on startup. I searched all the internet and tried every fix I could find to no avail. Not being able to cope with it anymore I went to Microsoft Forums and asked for help. They pointed me to completely remove Avast from the system. I was using Avast Premium/Cleaner/VPN/Driver Updater. Reluctant I did as asked to see if it would solve the issue. It did. Now I don't know what to do. I don't want to abandon Avast, I like it, and have it in more than one pc, besides I paid good money for it, but if I can't use it or have to deal with the 100% disk usage error on startup than I think I need a refund. I can't wait 30-40 minutes to use my pc every time I turn it on for it to normalize.

How should I proceed?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi senseirafael,

could you please send us a performance recording of this situation? You can do it via Avast Antivirus UI Menu->Settings->Troubleshooting->Open Recorder->Start Recording. If you attach your e-mail there and then let me know you send the recording, I can analyze it and contact you with further information.

I am not sure how. The situation escalated a lot.

I already uninstalled avast. So I cant access  the UI. I would gladly install it again, but I don't know the key. I don't know what email is associated with my avast products, and apparently I don't have an avast account, since none of my email are recognized. Also the email I think it may be associated with it I long lost access to. I do have all avast products installed on my SSD, but trying to solve the 100% error I ended up with a bigger issue and now I can't boot the SSD. I can access it through windows explorer on my HD, but I don't know if there is a file there where I can copy the keys.

I was about to create another topic to ask support to help me retrieve my keys/account when I saw your reply.

I do still own the same credit card where the products subscription are linked to.

I really don't know how to proceed.

I would appreciate any help.
