Vista in the SBS domain - update failure
« on: October 08, 2007, 07:43:24 PM »
Hi,

We receive an HP Vista Pro, we enter this VISTA in the SBS Premium domain with ISA and ISA client on VISTA (ISA 2006 client). We install AVAST Pro under administrator account we cannot update Avast automaticly, we must type login of administrator and password to permit update of AVAST.
Do you have any idea to remove the control of this update and allow automatic update like in XP Pro?

Regards.
GG.

Hi,

Same problem for me on a Windows XP pro computer with SBS 2003 R2 premium and ISA client.
Updates work only if the logged in user has local admin rights.

Raphael

have you already tried the taskplaner of windws vista?

if you create a task and let it start this program:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\VisthUpd.exe
(to the conditions you want, for example after every login...)

its important to check the run with highest privileges (see the pic 1)
also you could check the only start if network connection is available (pic 2)

you should look through every index card and check what you want/need.

i tried it and i didn't need to verify UAC...

(sorry if you meant something different)
