« on: March 04, 2004, 05:07:02 PM »
After installing Outlook 2003 i have not been ablel to write new mails.
Avast suddently shuts down the write message window. All settings seem to right and Avast work fine with Mozilla mail. What did I do wrong?

What do you mean, avast shuts down the write message window? Do you get any error messages? What makes you think it's avast?

No, I dont get any error messages, but shortly after I've startet writing something in the New-mail-window, the avast-icon in the system-tray starts flashing and the window is closed, but Outlook stays open.

The main avast tray icon (the spinning blue ball) or the Outlook plugin icon [the small beacon]?

Not the spinning blue ball, the icon showing a beacon. Wenn I tryed to get the detailed information it seemed that avast started scanning a lot of other message bodys before shutting the window....
Perhaps I should try to uninstall/reinstall office. I tried to stop the avast protection, but still could not keep a write-window open.

You could also disable scanning of already-stored messages. Click the (a)-ball icon, select 'Details >>', double click Outlook/Exchange and do the appropriate changes... :)

I suppose its a microsoftrelated problem, so i'll stick to mozilla and staroffice.  Sorry to have wasted your time.
