All right I think we're ok. The detections where in the system restore and combofix qoobox, which SAS opened to scan and avast detected it then.

Procede with the clean up routine that I posted.

When you are done post back and let me know how things are at that end.

Where do I get OTMoveIt from.. im not seeing where i ever downloaded that... am I still being tooo thick here! Sorry Oldman.....

Yess I found it in yoour post #32 when you were helping me with my computer so from there i was able to get to OTMOVEIT... maybe the brain is starting to work again!

OK all tasks are done. The only thing left on her desktop is the Hijack this icon... should i fo to add and remove programs and take that program off her computer?

That may be just a short cut, click on it.

If HJT opens, click on the misc tools button, slide the slider all the way down and click uninstall.

If HJT dosen't open or you get an error message, then it's just a left over shortcut which you can delete.

HTJ is uninstalled and off the desktop. I returned the computer to my young friend today and she and her mom were very happy! Thank you for all your help and support in helping to  get her computer back to useable form!
