trojans galore

I think i have a similar problem as my friend SasySusie, u remember her, and im toooo young to have a glass of wine, but i really could use your help.  Sasy had me run the superantispyware and it found about 58 trojans and about 200 other items. We  quarantined them in the anti spyware  then we did a boot time scan with avast that found about 20 or more trojan friends and we quarantined them as well.  Help.... im sure there is a granddaddy hiding somewhere....Help please.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I'll see what I can do.

Click here to download HJTsetup.exe

• Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
• Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
• Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
  
• Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
  
• Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
• At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
  
• Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  
• Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
• Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
• DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
  

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.

• Close all other windows before proceeding.
• Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  
• When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt  -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Do you have a firewall besides the windows firewall?

Hi, my friend Julia gave me her laptop to try to wrk out this trojan issue with yu all.  I have done what was asked in the repy from oldman..well half of it.. I have done the hijack exe. and have log to post here frm that... ill do the next step and come back and pot at that point to.  Thanks in advance for al yor help.. her computer needds it!

Close all browser/windows and click fix. Close hjt.





Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall.




please note:

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.

Do the following only if combofix stalls after 20 or so minutes and you are sure it has stalled, ie no hard drive light or noise.

If it does, open Task Manager  (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) then Processes tab and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.

End one at a time and see if combofix resumes.

Yes I definately need the logs. Attach them if you wish.

Seeing trend micro is a suite, when you go to uninstall it, it should give you the option to just uninstall portions, just uninstall the anti virus.

Do the above then update the java.

when i go to remove the trend mico it only is giving me the option to unstall the Mirco PC-cillian internet secruity12... do i go ahead and do that... and ill get the logs for you hopefully i can find them again
